Harriers on the trot for top spots

FORRES HARRIER Gordon Lennox swept to victory in the Lossiemouth 10-mile Turkey Trot, which also incorporated the North District 10-mile Championship.

He held off a strong challenge from clubmate Paul Rogan to win in a time of 56 minutes, 41 seconds.

Rogan (57.08) was not far behind, coming in as the first M40 runner. Fifth and best female was Inverness Harriers' Melissa Whyte (59.16).

Harriers also completed a team victory, with a great run by David McCulloch into 18th place (64.06) wrapping up the club prize.

The Forres club had 23 entrants, with women outnumbering the men. Lindsay Grant was 29th, Richard Johnston 38th and Andrew Little 41st.

First Harrier lady was Norma Beaton, 46th and third FV40.

She was followed by Lee Pulford 49th, Kirstie Rogan 51st, Frances Britain 53rd, Ross McLeod 54th, Andy Wonnacott 56th, Susan McRitchie 57th, Paul Hughes 61st, Jackie Nicol 68th, Sandra Philip 90th, Susan McDonald 92nd, Claire Nicholas 100th, Ros Wright 104th, Nadine Williams 115th, Anne Docherty 119th, Fran Russell 120th and James Hume, returning from injury, 125th.

Entries are being taken for the annual Kinloss to Lossiemouth half marathon on Sunday, February 19.
