A LOCAL church community is celebrating an unusual milestone.
The congregation of Kinloss and Findhorn Parish Church completed a fund-raising effort last year, to convert the inside of their church building into a flexible hall space.
An interior refurbishment to preserve the listed building was carried out, and the building is also now used by local youth groups and as a social area for church members.
It was a year on August 18 since they started holding their weekly coffee club, and they marked the first anniversary with a special birthday cake and coffee celebration.
The group of 70 plus who attended, all raised their cups and enjoyed a slice of birthday cake, which was presented by local couple Mary and Roy Jefferson.
The coffee shop, which is well supported, is open every Thursday at 10.30am except for the last Thursday each month, when a soup and sweet lunch is available at 12 noon.
