The only way is S6 - school show a hit

THE ONLY WAY IS S6

Another year at Forres Academy, another brilliant Sixth Year Show – and this year’s ‘The Only Way is S6” was no exception.

With a selection of hilarious sketches, fantastic musical numbers and dances, the sixth years put on a show to remember. It was clear from the audience’s reaction that a great time was had by all – with every sketch, dance and song going down a treat.

The show featured many fantastic sketches, each well written and performed.  From a series of sketches parodying Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings to a simple, yet hilariously good sketch about licking the back of the Queen’s head, every sixth year pulled their weight, leaving the audience in stitches. This year’s S6s also continued the tradition of parodying their favourite teachers, most notably Geography teacher, Mr Strong – portrayed in a series of brilliant performances by Ryan Eckhart and from the P.E. department, Mr Fraser – played by Alan Clark. This year’s show also featured some pre-recorded scenes, such as the “Extreme Puddle Jumping” sketch – mocking extreme sports – which the audience absolutely loved.

This year’s show also featured some brilliantly choreographed dance routines as well as the usual boys and girls dances towards the end of the performance.  Among the wide range of talent on show that night, Hannah Taylor and Luke Jeffreys were two students displaying their musical prowess.  Taylor’s performance, in which she sang and played her guitar, wowed the audience and Jeffreys’ beat-boxing provided an excellent mix of humour and musical skill.

As the performance drew to a close, the audience applauded as all of the sixth years took to the stage one last time to thank their sponsors, the audience and the teacher who had helped.  From the looks on their faces, there was no doubt that they had put on a night of entertainment that every single one of them was proud of, and as the audience would agree, rightly so.
