GRAMPIAN Police are not ruling out the possibility of foul play after two swans were found dead.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the 'potential wildlife crime' after the birds, were found, near Findhorn Bay.

They are believed to have been taken to a local vets to determine how they died.

"Enquires into the death of the birds are ongoing and post-mortem examinations will be carried out in the next few days," said a police spokesman.

He said that at this stage it is too early to confirm whether or not either of the birds died as a result of a criminal act.
