Costliest means of generating energy

I would object strongly to a wind power plant being erected anywhere in Forres. They are inefficient, ugly, noisy eyesores.

It would not ‘earn anything’, and I think Mr Hellyer is confusing their ability to generate electricity and earn money with the subsidy that they receive from our electricity bills, already the highest in Europe. These machines would not need any subsidy at all if they could generate their installed capacity.

In fact, the best of them generate only 25% of that, which is why they need to be subsidised. The electricity they generate is by far the costliest available. – Yours etc,
