NOT only will Forres be holding a stretch of the Moray Olympic Torch Relay, but a Forres runner will be taking part in the official relay which is currently going around Britain, and is due to hit Scotland at the start of this week.
LLoyds High Street Bank Manager Jackie Nicol has been confirmed as one of the runners who will be taking part in the official relay when it arrives in Moray.
“It is the chance of a lifetime,” she said. “I am getting very excited now.”
Jackie who has her official running kit ready to wear, is an active member of the Forres Harriers and was nominated by one of her colleagues in the bank, which is a 2012 London Olympics official sponsor.
She will be running a stretch in Aviemore tomorrow ( Monday, June 11) where the torch will arrive, after it has done the North of Scotland circuit, and is heading south from Inverness.
Meantime, Forres will be getting its hands on its very own Olympic torch, on Tuesday, as it travels from Dallas through Rafford and around the Forres area.
