Fingers crossed for good weather for the Toon Mercat.

FORRES folk are keeping their fingers crossed that the rain will stay away for tonight’s Toon Mercat event.

The Forres High Street will be lined with stalls for the event which is being held as part of the Scottish Week ProgrammeLocal organisations, shops, =and individuals will be promoting their groups or raising funds for thier chosen charity, with lots of fun guaranteed.

the public usually flock to the event which is taking place along the full length of the High Street, between 6pm and 9pm.

Stall holders will also be vying for three prizes awarded to the best decorated stall, whose organisers have best entered into the spirit of the event with the 2012 theme of the ‘Jubilee’.

Among those taking part are ‘azette’ staff who will be holding a fundraising bottle stall and book stall, with all proceeds going to the Leanchoil patients Fund.

Friends of the hospital are currently involved in a project to revamp and re-decoate the summer hosue, and Nursing Manager, Sonia Palmer said they were hoping to raise cash to buy outdoor furniture, so patients can enjoy some fresh air while they are recuperating.
