Promotion to railway bookstall agent - We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Dunbar, of the Railway Bookstall here, to a more responsible position at Oban. Mr Dunbar came to Forres about six years ago, succeeding Mr Munro, who went to Dundee, and during that time he has gained much popularity and esteem in the community, where his many friends will be delighted to learn of his well-deserved preferment. Mr Dunbar has devoted much of his time and energy to the propagation of temperature in the district.
Benson's Shakespeare company - The lovers of genuine drama in Forres will welcome the appearance at the Institute tonight (Wednesday) and tomorrow evening, "The Merchant of Venice" for the other evening. No actor has done more than Mr Benson to popularise the Shakespearean plays, his annual festivals at Stratford-on-Avon drawing students and lovers of the Bard of Avon from all parts of the world. The company that is to appear on this visit to Forres is particularly strong and would satisfy even the most fastidious patrons with the added attraction of first-class dresses and scenery. Seats may be booked at Mr D. G. Munro's, and we may mention that a special reduction in terms will be made for school parties on application at the booking office.
