FORRES Flower Show celebrated its 80th birthday with a spectacular display of flowers, vegetables, foliage, home baking and arts and crafts at Forres Town Hall.

Entries were boosted by some special categories introduced for the birthday celebrations.

Among these were an iced sponge cake and an adults and children's competition to design an 80th birthday card.

A new category, sponsored by computer re-cycling centre, ReBOOT, proved to be a popular talking point, with several entries for a piece of artwork incorporating used IT or computer parts.

Chairman Bill Shand said the show is always well supported by exhibitors and the public.

However, he stressed the event is not a money-making exercise, and the club need to hold a coffee morning during the year to fund their activities.
